My Story:
I love learning about cosmetic science so much that I sought a career in the
subject. My journey began in New Jersey at a cosmetic manufacturer; later, I
transitioned into a regulatory career while attending Rutgers University-New
Brunswick.
Since 2021, I have been with the FDA, monitoring and surveying the cosmetics
industry in the Office of Cosmetics and Colors (OCAC). With the recent
implementation of the Modernization of Cosmetics Regulation Act of 2022
(MoCRA), I've contributed to my office and the cosmetic industry by staying
abreast of changes, trends, and the latest scientific innovations.
Being a Society of Cosmetic Chemists (SCC) member is valuable for various
reasons. Still, primarily, the society opened my ability to network with other
professionals who work in different occupations within the cosmetic industry.
As an SCC member, I've been able to attend scientific conferences, lectures, and
continuing education courses that help grow my perspective. Volunteering for the
MASCC has allowed me to spread awareness of SCC and open doors for others."
